First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP)

Introducing First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP), a modern healthcare model transforming access to physiotherapy services.

FCP provides patients direct access to expert care without requiring a GP referral, empowering those in need of musculoskeletal support.

Specially trained physiotherapists act as the main point of contact, offering quick assessment, diagnosis and treatment for conditions such as back pain, joint injuries, and sports-related issues.

By simplifying the patient journey, FCP reduces wait times and allows GPs to focus on more complex medical cases.  Additionally, FCP promotes patient independence by delivering rapid access to personalised care, encouraging self-management techniques and reducing unnecessary specialist referrals.

This method enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of primary care services, improving patient outcomes and satisfaction. Skilled physiotherapists within GP practices operate as the first point of contact, proficiently assessing, diagnosing and recommending treatment or further referrals for musculoskeletal problems.
