World Physical Therapy Day is observed to generate awareness about the crucial contribution physiotherapists make to their communities and society as a whole, enabling people to be mobile, well, fit and independent.
This year’s theme focuses on rehabilitation and Long COVID, and the role of physiotherapists in the treatment and management of people affected by Long COVID.
Fact: 1 in 10 of all Long COVID patients will exhibit symptoms for a period of 12 weeks or longer.
Long COVID is different for everyone, and rehabilitation for Long COVID must be tailored to the individual. As physiotherapists, we play a key role in delivering safe and effective rehabilitation that is fundamental to recovery after COVID.
If you, or anyone you know is being affected by Long COVID and would like to discuss a treatment plan, please call us on 01676 533106 / 01989 548314.
* Designated in 1996, World Physical Therapy Day is observed on 8 September and is promoted by World Physiotherapy.
