Your Frequently Asked Questions
What conditions do you treat?
At Health Matters Ltd, we treat a wide range of conditions, including back and neck pain, sports injuries, joint problems, muscle strains, nerve pain (such as sciatica), post-operative rehabilitation, arthritis, headaches, posture-related issues, and general mobility concerns.
Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
No referral is needed. You can book directly with us. However, if you’re using private health insurance, some providers may require preauthorisation—please check with your insurer.
What should I expect during my first appointment?
Your initial session includes a full assessment, discussion of your symptoms, diagnosis, and a personalised treatment plan. You’ll also receive hands-on treatment on your first visit.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your condition, how long you’ve had the symptoms, and your individual goals. After your assessment, your physiotherapist will provide a clear treatment plan and expected timeline.
What treatments do you offer?
We offer manual therapy, joint mobilisation, massage, acupuncture, exercise rehabilitation, taping, postural coaching, ergonomic advice, and tailored home exercise programmes. Our approach is always evidence-based and specific to your needs.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. The physiotherapist may ask you to expose the area being assessed—for example, wearing shorts for a knee assessment.
Do you treat sports injuries?
Yes, we work with athletes of all levels—from beginners to competitive players. We focus on injury management, safe return to sport, and prevention strategies.
Can physiotherapy help with long-term or chronic pain?
Absolutely. Physiotherapy can help reduce pain, improve function, and provide strategies to manage ongoing symptoms. We focus on building strength, improving mobility, and helping you stay active confidently.
Do you offer post-operative rehabilitation?
Yes. We support recovery after orthopaedic operations such as joint replacements, ligament repairs, and spinal surgery. Our goal is to help you regain mobility, strength, and independence safely.
Is everything discussed in my session confidential?
Yes. Physio & Health Matters Ltd follows strict confidentiality and data protection guidelines. Your information is always handled with the highest level of privacy and professionalism.
