Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, is one of those conditions that seems to come out of nowhere and can turn everyday tasks into major challenges. You may start with mild discomfort, but over time, the shoulder becomes increasingly stiff, sore, and difficult to move. Simple actions like reaching overhead, fastening a seatbelt, or even washing your hair can feel frustratingly out of reach.

But while frozen shoulder can be stubborn, it is treatable, and you don’t have to wait it out on your own.

At Physio & Health Matters, we understand the three stages of frozen shoulder: freezing, frozen, and thawing, and tailor your treatment based on where you are in the process. Each stage affects your shoulder differently, and the right approach at the right time makes all the difference.

How We Treat Frozen Shoulder

During your assessment, we’ll look at your range of motion, muscle balance, posture and how your shoulder responds to movement. This helps us build a personalised plan that supports healing while protecting the joint from unnecessary irritation.

We’ll guide you step by step, adjusting your plan as your shoulder begins to “thaw” and mobility returns. Our goal is to help you regain comfortable, functional movement at a pace that’s safe and sustainable.

Frozen shoulder may take time to resolve, but with expert care, encouragement and consistent treatment, you can move through each stage with far less pain and far more confidence.

We’re here to help you reclaim your reach, strength and freedom of movement.
