Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to the painful spot and provokes healing and repair processes. It is directly applied to an injury through a person’s skin via a gel medium. Metabolism and circulation are increased, stimulating the healing properties of the body. Damaged tissue recovers and heals itself. This will cause the pain to decrease and mobility to improve. You do not need painkillers with it – the purpose of the therapy is to trigger the body’s own natural healing response.

Many people report that their pain is reduced, and mobility improved after the first treatment. Average success rate of treatment with shockwave is 70%. Normal amount of treatment is between 3-8 sessions.

Shockwave therapy has shown to effectively treat the following conditions:

  • Feet – heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis
  • Elbow – tennis and golfers’ elbow
  • Shoulder – calcific tendinosis of rotator cuff muscles, frozen shoulder
  • Knee – patellar tendonitis
  • Hip – bursitis
  • Lower leg – shin splints
  • Upper leg – Iliotibial band friction syndrome
  • Back pain – lumbar and cervical spine regions and chronic muscular pain
  • Cerebral Palsy – reduces spasticity

Do not let pain control your life. Shockwave therapy is an effective treatment to make your life pain-free.
