Biomechanics

At Physio & Health Matters we understand the impact altered biomechanics can have on your health. We use principles of biomechanics to assess how a patient moves their body, and how the movement might be adjusted. If someone’s biomechanics are out of alignment, then it can result in an injury.

Often, a biomechanical assessment is the first step in developing a treatment program that is effective in relieving pain and stiffness symptoms. We do this by ensuring that soft tissues are not put under strain, joints are moving efficiently and that the muscles are working properly to provide adequate movement support.

Conditions that frequently benefit from a biomechanical assessment include:

  • Plantar faciitis
  • Sciatica
  • Whiplash
  • Ankylosing spondylitis
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Tarsal tunnel syndrome
  • Anterior cruciate ligament issues
  • Ankle sprains
  • Tennis elbow
  • Golfers elbow
  • Tendinosis

If you have any questions regarding a biomechanics assessment then just get in touch.
