Conditions

Joint Replacements

Joint replacement surgery most commonly involves the replacement of hips and knees due to degenerative disease and “wear and tear”. The aim of the joint replacement is to reduce the acute pain, improve mobility and thus restore function.

Post-surgery you will be non-weight bearing and using elbow crutches, therefore treatment will consist of joint mobilisations; range of movement exercises, soft tissue mobilisations; specific muscle strengthening; electrotherapy and gait re-education.

Here at Physio & Health Matters we treat a variety of orthopaedic conditions including micro-fractures; ACL repairs; ankle fixations and Bankhart repairs.
