Lower back feeling stiff in the morning? Try our simple guide to help you to “lumbar” up!
- Before getting out of bed, bend your knees to a comfortable position ensuring that your feet are flat on the bed. Keep your knees and feet together.
- Slowly roll your knees down towards the left – ensure that you are not rolling onto the side or taking the knees as far as the bed. Slowly move the knees back to the centre and roll slowly down towards the right. Bring the knees back to centre.
- Move your feet forwards by a couple of inches and repeat the movement to the left and right.
- Move your feet forwards 5/6 times, rolling the knees to the left and right sides each time. This will create rotation through the lumbar spine and gently mobilise the spine.
